Get a Permanent and Natural-Looking Solution for Missing Teeth
If you are missing one or more teeth, replace them with dental implants, a solution that looks and functions just like your natural teeth, while also strengthening the underlying bone of surrounding healthy teeth.
What is a dental implant, and how does it work?
A dental implant is a small “anchor” made of titanium. It is inserted into the jawbone to take the place of your missing tooth root. After osseointegration, or when the surrounding bone has attached to the implant, a replacement tooth is secured to the top of the implant. The new tooth looks, feels, and performs just like your natural teeth.
Dental implants can be used in a variety of situations, whether you need to replace a single missing tooth or many teeth. They can even be used to replace a full denture. As anchor points, implants can also securely attach a partial denture or bridge. Not only do implants provide aesthetic improvement by filling in the gaps left by the missing teeth, they can be used to support or add retention to a partial or full denture.
Benefits of dental implants
Choosing dental implants offers you a number of significant advantages including:
More healthful and beautiful: When teeth are missing, the surrounding bone begins to shrink. This unhealthy bone loss can make your jaw line recede. Dental implants can help prevent deterioration of the jawbone caused by loss of teeth, so your face retains its natural shape. As an alternative to bridgework, dental implants eliminate the need to grind down healthy teeth when replacing one or more adjacent teeth.
More comfortable: Because dental implants are securely anchored, there is no slipping or movement as there is with dentures. This eliminates some of the key worries of dentures, including poor fit, gum irritation, and pain from exposed nerves.
More confident: With dental implants, you will never need to cover your mouth when laughing, smiling, or speaking. You can eat your favorite foods without pain or fear of embarrassment – and taste every bite. You will look better, feel better, and live more confidently.
What is involved in the implant procedure?
If you’re healthy enough to have a tooth extracted, you’re probably healthy enough to have an implant – whether your missing teeth are the result of injury, disease, or decay. General good health and adequate bone in the jaw are the key requirements. We can tell you if implants are right for you.The dental implant process involves several steps that take place over a time period that averages from four to nine months. The typical process will include:
- Initial implant placement: This procedure is typically performed in our office under local anesthesia. Your surgeon places the implant into your jaw.
- Over the next several months, bone will attach to the surface of the implant anchoring it into position.
- Depending on your particular case, an additional minor procedure creates an opening through which your artificial tooth will emerge.
- Implant prosthetic attachment: During this phase, we will painlessly attach a prosthetic “post” to the implant.
- A simple impression will be taken and over the next few days an artificial tooth will be created for a functional natural restoration.
Implants can improve your appearance, confidence, and freedom.
Since dental implants look and feel like natural teeth, they naturally enhance your appearance. More importantly, the securely attached implant gives you the confidence of eating what you like, speaking easily and clearly, and freedom from embarrassment. And, by following a regular routine of careful oral hygiene and regular checkups, your implants can last for many years. To find out if implants are a solution for you, ask us to evaluate you today.

I wasn't planning to change dentists but my dentist stopped taking my insurance and that was a deal breaker for me. My daughter (she's not on our insurance any longer) had been to Ideal Dental and really liked their new Arlington office, so I decided to give it a try. Ideal also participates with my insurance, which was crucial. Bottom line - I was very impressed. I don't often write reviews, but this time I felt I needed to. I didn't even really want to change dentists and always liked mine just fine. But, when I saw the difference in this practice, I felt others might want to know. I have gone to the dentist like clock work, every six months, probably since I've had teeth. And I think I take good care of my teeth (which they confirmed). But I've never met a hygienist like Mina. She was fabulous. Not only was she just a fun person and happy to be doing what she does, she really educated me about techniques for taking care of my teeth and gums and explained why things should be done a certain way. Also, I've always had sort of "bumps" on the roof of my mouth and in one area of my gums. I've asked other dentist/hygenists before about them and they just dismiss me. Mina pointed them out to me (without my asking) and explained that they were "extra" bone formations (can't remember the technical name) and nothing to worry about. And, the technique or process they used for cleaning my teeth was different from any I've experienced and I can easily say my teeth have never been cleaner. I have two molars that never developed permanent teeth under them. At age 51, one of those baby teeth is still hanging on but the other has since lost the battle, leaving me with a hole on one side and another to come when the other baby tooth gives out. So, they did a treatment plan for me. Dr. Adili explained my options with implants and then I had a consult with their oral surgeon. And, a really great thing is that Ideal does everything for implants in their office. With many dental practices (because I've checked into it before), you have to go to a separate oral surgeon. Again, he explained everything very well and gave me some very realistic options regarding which tooth was a priority (the one where I still have the baby tooth because if it breaks on it's own, it would be an emergency and could cause issues... that was the opposite of what I had been thinking, but totally made sense). Plus, in the short time I was in the consult, they worked up the cost and what my insurance would pay, etc. So, when I left, I knew exactly what my costs would be and how I needed to schedule the various steps. I know this sounds like more info than you may need, but I've looked into implants before and never really felt good about moving forward. Until now. So, I thought this might help someone else who needs to have more done than just a routine cleaning. I really felt like they were an open, friendly practice and really listened to me and addressed my particular needs. It was so nice to go to a medical/dental place where they don't have their office staff behind those glass partitions. I guess I would describe them as interactive and engaging. Not something you hear a lot about going to the dentist. Tammy S. 10/31/2016
I had some poor experiences elsewhere around the city with my dental provider, so I decided to give Ideal Dental a try. They were wonderful from the beginning-able to get me in quickly and made sure I knew what I was paying with my insurance before I even went in. The doctor was very knowledgeable, personable, and friendly. I am very happy with my decision to switch my business to them and their friendly staff. Dustin B. 10/31/2016
